Biography
Book artist. Born 3 January 1902 in Elsass-Lothringen. Early art training in design and painting with A. Hartmann, then at the Darmstadt Technische Hochschule where she was influenced by the work of Dürer. 1922: first illustrated books. 1925-8: had painting studio with Reinhold Ewald in Hanau, followed by a year in Paris. After the war she worked with Hans Soeder at the Wiesbaden Werkkunstschule. From 1961: lived in Bingen.
