Biography
Book artist, advertising, lettering, exlibris . Born 19 September 1886 in Kempen. Studied at art schools in Krefeld, Zurich, Düsseldorf, and at the Leipzig Akademie für Graphische Künste und Buchgewerbe. 1919-48: taught at the Hochschule für bildenden Künste, Berlin. Hoyer designed the typefaces Hoyer-Fraktur (Bauer) and Hoyer-Schönschrift (1939, Stempel). Died 1960 in Berlin.
