Biography
Born 1906 in Augsburg. Trained at the Hansische Hochschule für bildenden Künste, Hamburg, studying typography under J. Schulz, and commercial art under Paul Helms. This was followed by further study at the Leipzig Staatliche Akademie für graphische Künste und Buchgewerbe. Gehr later travelled in Holland, England, Denmark, Sweden and Austria before working for Leipzig firms.
