Biography
Born 1901. 1920s: worked as student bookbinder in Rudolf Koch’s Werkstatt, Offenbach a.M. By 1932: worked at the Kunstgewerbe- und Handwerkerschule, Kassel, with Hermann Virl. 1935: in Mainz at Staatschule für Kunst und Handwerk; 1940/41 artistic assistant at Burg Giebichenstein, Halle. By 1955: designed printed paper covers for Insel (nos. 368, 561). Sister of Emmy, Dorothea and Stephanie Freise.
