Biography
Posters. Born 9 November 1901 in Contwig, near Zweibrücken. Studied at the Munich Kunstgewerbeschule: teachers included Richard Riemerschmid and F.H. Ehmcke. Later settled in Kaiserslautern. Painted, and designed posters for National Socialist Gemeinschaft (community, organisation) ‘Kraft durch Freude’, the Deutsche Arbeitsfront, stamps for the Reichspost, covers for the journal Die Westmark. Also worked for the printing firm Carl Philipp Schmidt of Kaiserslautern. 1967: living in Zweibrücken/Pfalz.
