Valentin Zietara

Biography

Posters, publicity, illustrations. Born 1882 or 1883 in Breslau (Poland?). Studied at the Breslau Kunstgewerbeschule; began career in Silesia, then from 1908 worked in Munich. 1914: founder member of Die Sechs (The Six), a group of six Munich poster artists. Clients included I.G. Farben. He and Ludwig Hohlwein were the major influences upon the younger Munich poster artists during the pre-World War I period. Died 24 February 1935 in Munich of influenza.
