Asta Ruth-Soffner

Biography

Publicity, illustrations, jackets. Born Asta Soffner 21 October 1910 in Sonderburg. 1928-31: studied at the Berlin Kunstschule, training as an art teacher. Taught briefly at the Stuttgart Freie Kunstschule. Editor and designer for the publisher Ullstein. Editor of Die Dame for many years. Early 1950s: working in Stuttgart as commercial artist, book illustrator and painter of murals and set decorations. 1967: living in Stuttgart. Wife of Gottlieb Ruth.
