Gottlieb Ruth

Biography

Book covers, jackets, typography, type designs. Born 10 May 1905 in Ammertsweiler, Württemburg. 1924-7: studied in Stuttgart: one of his teachers was F.H. Ernst Schneidler. 1934-9: designed books and publicity for the Berlin publisher Ullstein. From 1953: taught at the Werkkunstschule, Offenbach a.M. Husband of Asta Ruth.
